The biggest challenge to grooming the long silky coat of a Powder Puff are the mats, which often form around the legs, ears, and side of face. For this reason alone daily brushing should be done..When Brushing your powder puff please mist him or her with water/ leave in conditioner/or take 1 part your favorite conditioner to 10 parts water and mist with this..brushing the mats out with a good pin brush...you may also use a comb...

Always use a good quality shampoo and conditioner...such as Isle of the dogs, Pure Paws, Summers Wind...

If you are keeping a Puff in show coat...it is recommended that you bath the dog once every 3-5 days and condition the coat..you may take the conditioner of your choice and mix 1 to 1o with water and saturate the coat leaving this in...and air drying..this helps to protect the coat...or you may condition the coat rinse out...and use a mist on him latter when brushing...but you should never dry brush a Puffs coat..it can damage the hair....

Grooming of the Powder Puffs face is optional but recommended..use a 10 blade to clean the face and ears...some groomers also like to groom a slight V on the neckline to enhance the long neck ....
